A Gem of a (Bonus) Episode | A Chat With One of our Favorite Radio Hosts and Friend, Carla Marie!
In this EpisodeIn this gem of a bonus episode, Adriana and Mariah sit down with Carla Marie (CM) and catch up on all that’s been happening with her since they talked in Season 1!
First and foremost, Carla Marie has some news. She and Anthony are dating! And… they were dating when the girls first chatted with her in Season 1! At the time, it was an extremely private relationship. The chemistry was always there as friends, and it is no different as partners. CM says that it was a really weird feeling to not tell the people closest to her, but it took some of the pressure off of her shoulders in the long run. Friends who start dating are definitely more apt to keep it quiet – kudos to them!
Since the girls last talked to CM, she is no longer in the radio space. Now, the focus is on full time influencing, merch, and behind the scenes projects. Getting let go from her position amidst COVID was the push she needed – she never would have left on her own. CM realized that radio is not her passion anymore and there is such a wide world of jobs and businesses out there. Creating your own path and running with it is so important!
Adriana and CM talk about motherhood. CM always told herself that she never wanted kids, but recently, her mindset has shifted a little bit. She says that watching Adriana has shown her that she can still pursue her dreams AND be a mom one day. Adriana says that motherhood is all a learning experience – you have to recognize that you won’t do everything right all the time, but you figure it out as you go. Do what works for you and your child, and put everything that others say to the side.
Now, both Adriana and CM work with their significant others! They both agree that their voices have become more empowered in the workplace. You can be honest and not worry about hurting their feelings because they see every facet of you everyday. Formulating a routine is crucial–sometimes it takes a breakdown to get there and rebuild, and that’s OKAY!
Adriana closes out this episode talking all things Bleecker St! From the basement to Bleecker, baby! Some people that were close to her in different chapters of life never reached out, and that is why she does what she does—to celebrate each other’s wins. Even if it is a clapping hands emoji or a simple congratulations, it goes a long way. We are limitless when we come together!
CM is so authentic and true, and that’s why we love her. Keep glowing, and we’ll catch you in Season 4! Bye for now! :)
