S4 E.10 Reporting Live from Miami
In this Episode
Hello, glowphers! We’ve missed you! This week, we are reporting live from sunny Miami… well, it’s actually been uncharacteristically cold here lately, but that’s beside the point. The actual point is, we’re back after the holidays, and we’ve got lots to catch up on!
So, Adriana and Bill have been in Miami for the past couple of weeks, renting the apartment of Cyndi Ramirez, founder of Chill Tips (shoutout!) and her husband. They’re down there with Ford (obviously), Nicole, and Adriana’s mom. Mariah joined them at the apartment for a couple of days to get ready for the LWP Off Site that’s happening in a couple days.
While down in Miami, Mariah has learned one very important lesson – she will never be having kids. Just kidding, but she has gotten an inside look into just how crazy Ford is, and has seen how messed up his sleep schedule has gotten, and well… how do mothers do it?! They truly are superheroes. And even though Ford is a very demanding kid, he is doing great – he’s very smart, and very aware, and Adriana and Bill are SO excited to see him as a big brother to his little brother… yep, you heard that right! It has been confirmed that Baby #2 is a boy, meaning that Adriana will be a boy mom forever, because she’s not going through pregnancy again. But, never say never!
Alright, now onto the question of the hour… is Mariah still with the football player? Well. Um. Nope! But luckily, this drop around, it was incredibly respectful, and honestly made sense for the two of them given the stages of life that they are in. Throughout the whole relationship, there was the elephant in the room of long distance. They had a conversation where he expressed that he did not want to do long distance, and wanted to be able to move back to Houston and settle down. The two of them had a great couple of weeks getting to know each other, he was nothing but respectful, and Mariah has a respect for him in a sense because he knew what he wanted, and he communicated those wishes clearly instead of leaving her wondering. This kind of closure conversation that the two of them had is something that she hadn’t experienced in previous dropping situations, and something that she’s grateful to have had this time around. While it sucks (of course), it was a very mature way to end things, and now we can just look forward to more updates from Mariah in the future!
Which brings us to our next topic of conversation – how to move on from a talking stage after one has just ended. And the answer is simple… post more thirst traps. Okay, we’re kidding of course… but sometimes it does help. To actually answer this question, though, Mariah likes to use humor to kind of get through it, and just see the whole situation itself as “good for the plot.” What helped her a lot through this one, especially, though not humor, was posting on TikTok talking about her healing journey and processing it. Her TikToks also showed her that she isn’t alone in these instances – it happens to all of us, and yes, it sucks, but we can get through them!
For the rest of the episode, we played a fun game! Our friend, Danielle Robay, who we had on the podcast in season 1, came out with a card game called 52 Cards for Deeper Conversation (*cough* which we do sell in our LWP retail stores *cough*). She’s an incredible journalist, asks the most amazing questions, and we had such a great time going through some of these cards.
We talked about something that we wish people could see about us that they might not see at first glance. Both of the girls answered with their heart, and how much they care. Mariah can come off as intimidating at first, and Adriana can come off as intense, but at the end of the day, they both have such big hearts, and all they want is to give love!
They also talked about what they complain about the most – for Mariah, it’s men and music. Men is an obvious one, but as for music, the right song must be playing at all times. For Adriana, it’s when people don’t go with her flow, but she has been getting better at this.
Among other topics of discussion were the coolest skills that they’ve learned from their jobs, what parts of themselves they feel the most proud of, the smartest decisions they’ve ever made, what they need help with right now, and things that they are trying to or need to let go of. Lots to unpack! So much, in fact, that we’re going to continue this game in a future episode!
That’s all from us this week! We’ll catch you next time!
