S4 E.11 Random Updates - dating (obvi), Ford, and business talk

In this Episode

We have a fun surprise episode for you this week! The girls decided to take advantage of the fact that Adriana was in New Jersey for the week to record an episode. Adriana and her squad traveled back up for some appointments and important meetings, so the decision to record was definitely a last minute one. Needless to say, this episode is a bit all over the place, but we think it turned out pretty good, nonetheless.

We started by talking about some real hard-hitters – what were our favorite games to play as kids? Adriana’s favorites included “Boss,” “CEO,” “House,” and “Bank”... pretty fitting, if you ask us! Perhaps she manifested the life she’s living now as a child! Mariah enjoyed playing Spy, Zombies and Monsters… lots of imaginary games.

Okay, enough about that. We actually started off by talking about an update on the Giants player situation. Sooo, remember when we told you last week that things had ended between them? Well, that may not be the case anymore. In a vulnerable moment, Mariah was convinced by Bill and some of her other LWP coworkers and friends (though according to Adriana, this was all of Mariah’s own volition), to text the Giants player. So she did. She congratulated him on his team’s win, asked him how his hand was feeling because he had hurt it, and then things turned toxic. She asked if she should stop at his home in Houston when she had a layover there, and long story short, this turned into him visiting Mariah at her apartment while he was in town. And they cuddled allllll night long.

And while it’s upsetting since he really does want to move to Houston and settle down without doing long distance, Mariah wants to just be able to enjoy these next two weeks with him while he’s here. Plus, she’s only got a couple more months to pull this kind of crap until she’s 30 when Adriana has said she’s giving up, so might as well live those couple of months to the fullest, am I right?!

We also talked about some other fun updates that have happened as of late – Mariah went to LA for LWP to attend a memorial concert for Aaron Carter. She met so many members of iconic 90s boy bands and it was a literal dream. She even was able to secure one of the coolest photos of all time - like Ellen’s selfie at the Oscars-level cool. Check out the Little Words Project Instagram if you want to see it!

In other exciting news, Adriana, Bill, and Nicole are taking Ford to Disney on Monday, and they are SO excited. They’re going to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom, and the hotel they’re staying at has animals that you can see from your room – Ford is going to LOVE it, and we can’t wait to see all the content from it!

Once we started to feel like this episode literally had no point at all and questioned whether anyone actually listens to the podcast, we started chatting about some business. It’s been getting more and more difficult to run Little Words Project (not in a bad way), and Adriana is starting to see how people get so burnt out when starting their own business. It’s hard to keep growth steady, keep people excited about working at the company, coming up with new products, making decisions about retail stores, and just everything. There’s no way around it, however, except to just keep powering through. Another important lesson that Adriana has learned during this difficult time is to stop talking down to yourself, saying that “I’m not doing good,” or “I feel like I’m failing.” You can acknowledge that something is hard and that you are having difficulties, but never allow yourself to have negative thoughts about yourself. We believe what we say to ourselves, so it’s important to focus on saying the good stuff.

This same concept can even be applied to dating. It can be easy to feel like you are failing if you’re single, but it’s still important to believe that everything will work out the way that it’s supposed to, and that you are not failing at anything.

We also talked about the importance of comparing yourself to yourself, and not to other people – or in the business world – to other brands. You have to keep trusting and believing that you yourself are learning and growing, and that someday, all the difficulties will make sense, and the dots will connect. That’s the whole point of this podcast – keep glowing through what you’re going through. That’s all we have for you this week, tune in next week for more shenanigans!
