S4 E.13 Back from our unannounced hiatus
In this EpisodeIt feels like we start every blog with this sentence, but… we’re back! We did take somewhat of an unannounced hiatus, and that’s just what it seems this podcast is going to be at this point. We are SO busy and we don’t always have time to record, but when we do, we love it! That’s why we’re so excited to be back this week, and updating you all on all the things – well, actually we had quite a bit of trouble figuring out what to update everyone on, so we had to call in some backup in the form of LWP employees who listen to the podcast.
But let’s start off with the real question… why is Mariah drinking alcohol at 3:30pm on a Tuesday when she doesn’t drink? According to her, it’s because there’s no water in the office, but the truth is that she actually just couldn’t find a cup for the water that we do, in fact, have in the office, and she was too lazy to go find one. So, alcohol it is! Just kidding, she took maybe three sips of it and tossed it to the side.
Anyways, we’re back (for now). We had good intentions to record while Adriana was down in Florida, but plans fell through. Bill and Adriana were going to record an episode, but they never got around to it since Miami was so busy, and Mariah was supposed to record an episode with one of LWP’s Chief Wellness Officers, but our guest had a family emergency and wasn’t able to make it. We promise we had good intentions!
In other news, Mariah spent the weekend in Miami visiting Bill and Adriana, but now everyone is back home in Jersey. Her dating update - since we know that’s what everyone is really here for - is that Mariah ended things with the football player, and hasn’t heard from him since. But, he did like one of her Instagram posts… interesting! Nike man (remember him?) randomly sent her another pair of Air Forces, and nobody is really sure why, since there hasn’t really been any contact there. In short, Mariah has decided that even though things ended with the football player, she will be moving to Houston to be with him. Jokes! Mariah will find her man!
Once we started struggling with updates beyond coming home from Miami and dating, we called in one of LWP’s employees, Elise. She is perhaps Glow Through It’s biggest fan, so we wanted to know what she wanted to hear from us. She did unfortunately ask for dating updates, so that wasn’t much help, but we talked about things to come for LWP in the spring – which includes Adriana’s favorite collection EVER. The Garden Party collection is launching and it features beautiful glass lampwork beads that are just stunning and the perfect addition to any stack. We’re obsessed!
Elise also asked about things that bother Adriana. The answer is too many questions and people who take too long to get to the point (aka Mariah and Bill). This led us into a discussion about how long Mariah’s emails to Adriana are, and how they MUST be shorter – pro tip - your boss does not have endless amounts of time - get to the point!!
We also briefly discussed LWP’s new mentorship program since Elise is Mariah’s mentee. Mariah as a mentor… that should be interesting! Just kidding - we know Mariah is going to kill it; she has so much experience, wisdom, and love to offer, and she is going to make a great mentor.
Adriana talks about how she personally would never move to Miami permanently, but Bill definitely would. She didn’t like how everything was a crawl in Florida – people truly move at their own pace down there, and it is so different from Jersey. Something that Adriana does like, however, is the fact that she’s almost done with pregnancy #2. Her due date is June 24, and she is praying for a calm little Cancer baby.
When Elise was done asking all of her questions, we called in another reinforcement — Madison, one of LWP’s interns and another Glow Through It fan. They talked about dating apps, and how Adriana never was on them since she met Bill in college, but how she does love the idea of them. She also loves swiping for Mariah. In Adriana’s opinion, although dating apps might be hard for a lot of people, they have become so commonplace that if you’re not involved in them, you might not be getting the same access to success stories! It’s just important to remember to not be SO picky, to vet the people you date before you actually meet them, and to be your truest self in the dating game.
We ended by talking about our biggest icks, and oof, do we have a bunch! Mariah could vomit at the sight of weird hand motions, and Adriana hates when people smell. There are more, but we’ll let you tune in to hear about those.
